FSHN faculty honored by College of Human Sciences

Erica Beirman, Culinary Science Coordinator and Linda Svendsen, Senior Lecturer, have received awards from the College of Human Sciences. They will be honored at a ceremony April 24, 2012 at 3:00 pm in the Gallery, Memorial Union.

Svendsen will receive the Lecturer Distinguished Service Award in recognition of her exemplary service to students through teaching and supervising. She has taught several FSHN lecture and lab courses, is an adviser of the Food Science Club, championed the development of the Culinary Science major and study abroad program to Spain. Additionally, she serves as manager of the food laboratories in MacKay and assists with student recruitment events. Congratulations to Linda Svendsen.

Beirman will receive the Outstanding Adviser Award in honor of her work with undergraduate students. She has grown the Culinary Science program in a few short years and created new courses for students in the major. Beirman advises the Culinary Science Club, teaches laboratory courses, and leads student recruitment events. Congratulations Erica Beirman.
