FSHN Office Procedures - Equipment Checkout

Checkout Policies - FSHN Departmental Laptops and Projectors

    • Priority checkout is for classroom/instructional/teaching. Most departmental laptops and projectors are purchased with student CAC funds
    • Any files saved to the desktop for use during check out should be deleted before returning to office.
    • No undergraduate student checkouts
    • Graduate student checkout- FSHN department students only
    • Any damage cost (not covered by warranty) caused by user is responsibility of user
    • Lost equipment cost is responsibility of user
    • Any settings changes made must be changed back before returning
    • Make sure laptop is shut down, not just put into sleep mode
    • Check to make sure all cables, etc are in bag before returning.
    • Return equipment promptly so it is ready for the next user
    • Vacation checkout requires advance notice.

Reservation and Checkout Procedures

    • To reserve a laptop for semester classroom/instructional use complete the Semester Laptop Reservation Form. Policy is listed below.
      • Laptop Checkout Policy: Each teaching faculty member will be assigned a laptop for the semester they are teaching. The laptops (which are purchased with student CAC funds) will be used only for instructional/classroom purposes. If a faculty member has been assigned a laptop they will not check out other laptops. Faculty members who already have a laptop may choose to use their own laptop. Laptops will be returned to office or FSHN IT staff at the end of the semester and the laptop will be reformatted and assigned to a faculty member for the next semester. Faculty are responsible for making sure all cables, remotes, mouse, etc are returned with the laptop. Requests for teaching laptops will be made July for Fall semester and November for Spring semester. There will still be one or more carts with a laptop/projector setup available in the office as well as a few backups.
    • For daily use, complete Media Request Form and submit a hard copy or e-mail to Breanna Wetzler or Jean Tilley (in their absence please give a hard copy to student workers)
    • Verify reservation by using outlook calendar 2312 Equipment or 220 Equipment Checkout
