Transfer Student Information

Transferring to Iowa State University in the Food Science and Human Nutrition Department:

APPLY:

Students should begin the application process to Iowa State University approximately 6 months prior to the anticipated transfer. Admissions guidelines and requirements can be found on the Iowa State University Transfer Student Admissions webpage.

PLAN A SCHEDULE: Early communication with an academic advisor at the student's current institution and with the Iowa State University FSHN Transfer Advisor is very important. Students should work with these advisors to plan an appropriate course of study.
TIPS:

Students should plan to begin the required science course sequences as soon as possible. Students may also choose to complete math and communications requirements. Below are suggested courses for each undergraduate FSHN major. These are guidelines and should not replace discussion with an academic advisor to ensure course selection will transfer appropriately and in the timeliest manner.

Students planning to transfer to Iowa State University as Dietetics majors should take equivalents of these Iowa State University courses as available (based on the '07-'09 catalog). All of these courses do not need to be completed prior to transfer.
